PULL UP & PITCH

Our Impact

Program Results
(2023–2024):

Proven Impact. Measurable Access.

Between 2021 and 2024, Pull Up & Pitch expanded BGV’s reach by creating hyperlocal entry points into the ecosystem for founders who might not otherwise see themselves reflected in traditional pitch environments. For many participants, Pull Up & Pitch marked the first time they publicly shared their business idea. Founders consistently described the experience as affirming and confidence-building, noting that being seen and supported by their local community changed how they viewed their potential.

2022 LAPitch Winner | BGV All Star

Aisha has had significant growth and impact of her medical technology company post-participation in BGV programs. In total, she secured $63,000 in grants from the BGV x PIMCO partnership. This fueled the expansion of her customer base, which expanded globally, with patents in wound care, post-surgical, asthma inhalers, EpiPens, diabetic shots, and Narcan markets.

Securing Funding

  • The BGV and PIMCO networks have helped facilitate introductions to potential investors for Casual Recovery's $1.25 million seed round

  • Secured an additional 12.5K in non-dilutive capital from secret donors.

Customer Acquisition

  • The customer base has expanded both in numbers and geographical reach, with recent patents issued for wound care and other medical markets. Narcan markets for smart sleeve technology are in the billions, with a total market potential of $196.4 billion

New Partnerships

  • Extended her powerful network of strategic partnerships, including acceptance into the Seed Spot accelerator, an interview with the USPTO, the i-Corps program at Jackson State University, and the addition of respected advisors to her board - all of which have been instrumental in accelerating the growth of her innovative medical technology company.
