As the nation faces the coronavirus pandemic, Black communities are particularly vulnerable. On March 20, the Congressional Black Caucus submitted an extensive 11-page proposal to the Senate and House leadership with recommendations to support the recovery of Black America. “When America catches a cold, Black America catches pneumonia,” the CBC said in a recent statement after the bipartisan Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security, or CARES Act, passed the Senate. Here’s everything you need to know about how the CBC is working to protect Black communities through the Senate Coronavirus relief package:
