Philadelphia has a population of 44% black and hispanic residents, but only 2.5% of Philly businesses are black owned as reported by Philadelphia Magazine in May of 2019.With disparities like this local officials are being urged to act on plans for access to capital for minorities.

 

Local residents contributed to a pool of $5,897 as one of eight cities to host a BGV Pitch Competition in 2018. This makes Philly an ideal city to host a BGV Chapter!
