The BGV Pitch Tour: Black And Brown Women Pitch Their Way To $30,000

Updated: Aug 2, 2022

We believe there is a need for more capital invested in Black and Brown women entrepreneurs. They are shattering glass ceilings and moving the needle for their communities through innovative companies and impactful brands. We want to help change the face of entrepreneurship by giving this overlooked population to secure the bag, build their networks and scale their businesses.

It's time to unite the community to support Black and Brown women founders and their startups. We're doing this through the BGV Tour!

Where you'll find us:
  • September 22 - Chicago - Nike

  • September 29 - Detroit - Kroger

  • October 6 - Miami* - Knight Foundation

  • October 20 - Los Angeles* - PIMCO & Omaze

  • November 10 - Houston* - Omaze

  • November 17 - Austin - PIMCO

  • December 1 - New York* - Johnny Walker

Each pitch competition is in partnership with Nike, supporting local Black and Brown Business women founders. These founders will also receive support from our 6 Change Agent fellows, who are actively engaged in uplifting the current ecosystem for Black and Brown women founders in their cities.

A BGV Pitch Competition is like 'Shark Tank' mixed with the elements of a classic "Rent Party." However, there's a catch. The audience decides who the winner is through Raisify.co, our voting platform, with their dollars. Unlike other crowdfunding platforms, The winner is determined by the number of votes, not the dollar amount raised.

Here are the incredible prizes:
  • 1st place: $10k

  • 2nd place: $6k

  • 3rd place: $2k

These founders will have access to non-monetary prizes to enhance their business for total pitch winnings of $30k.

Come out, and hang out with the BGV team and local Change Agents. Watch and support the founders pitching and network with other business owners and possible investors while enjoying light refreshments. This is an event you do not want to miss.
