Meet the 2022 Winners: The New York Pitch Competition

Updated: Jan 22, 2023

Dana Wilson - 1st Place Winner

Dana Wilson is the Founder of CHIP (Changing How Individuals Prosper). CHIP was created because of the lack of visibility and representation of Black and Latinx financial professionals in the financial services industry. It's a financial technology platform that aims to help consumers of all backgrounds easily access financial professionals of color.

Their goal is to ensure that consumers of financial products, i.e., retirement plans, investments, and insurance, and those with estate planning needs, have a platform to become financially educated while helping them to find creditable professionals.

Rosita Lawrence - 2nd Place Winner

Rosita Lawrence is the Founder of Earth By RoRo. Earth By RoRo makes products designed to promote and enhance the quality of your skin naturally. They pride themselves in creating quality, clean products worth adding to your daily skincare routine.

Earth By RoRo is a Brooklyn-based brand founded in 2019 on the belief that natural products shouldn't have to sacrifice quality. Inspired by her daughter's love of her handmade products, they create essential, natural, and chemical-free products. Their products have high-quality natural products with rich textures and consistency.

Khadijah Davis - 3rd Place Winner

Khadijah Davis is the Founder of Davis Beauty Solutions. Davis Beauty Solutions helps beauticians maximize work efficiency and quality by dispensing innovative tools that eliminate workspace clutter, alleviate strain, and reduce time, all while limiting product waste consumed per client. They've created their first patent-approved multifunctional tool, "The HairSolutions Trolley."

This helpful tool helps beauticians cut down time and stores the tools that stylists need for their hair extensions and water heater for those who specialize in braiding hair. This efficient tool helps to hold all the hair in one place, helping the stylists to be more efficient.
